THE ADVOCATE 87
VOL. 80 PART 1 JANUARY 2022
“When I registered, I had a lot of questions,” Kavya commented. “I didn’t
know my rights or even how to get a divorce. I didn’t know where to start.”
Kavya says that LawCoachBC answered her questions and helped point her
to worksheets and online help that she found really practical. “I was able to
get advice from a lawyer and estimate support payments I could receive. I
really liked that I could connect by phone. It worked for me.”
JES introduced free LawCoachBC services in July, and dozens of clients
have already registered. This is a pilot year, and free services are limited to
100 clients. JES will evaluate and refine LawCoachBC services through lessons
learned from clients and participating lawyers.
