130 THE ADVOCATE
VOL. 80 PART 1 JANUARY 2022
enough to remind us what s.m.a.l.l.
and L.A.R.G.E. stand for or for
which they stand. I am more familiar
with s.m.a.l.l. than I am with
L.A.R.G.E. there’s no shame in that,
Glen – Ed.. Gerry was always
happy to explain to me the advantages
of s.m.a.l.l., pointing out that
I was unqualified to be a member
of that august group because of my
unfortunate excessive verticality
yeah, sure, whatevs. – Ed..
Even though I recall an Advocate
article about the winding up of
s.m.a.l.l., perhaps we can arrange
for its rebirth, assuming someone
who is appropriately qualified
would take the lead in its re-establishment.
I am prepared to help in
that regard but, of course, I can do
so only as an honorary member. I
would very much like to know
more about L.A.R.G.E. (since this
seems to be a group for which I
may be more qualified) and if I
would be allowed to join such a fulsome
group.
Sincerely,
Glen Orris, Q.C.
Vancouver
A short while ago, the Advocate
reprinted Gerry’s wee 2011 article “A
Short Summary of the Life of
s.m.a.l.l.” in the January 2021 edition
((2021) 79 Advocate 135, reprinted
from (2011) 69 Advocate 199). That
article provided a little summary of
the lives of s.m.a.l.l. and L.A.R.G.E.
We hope readers are willing to overlook
our shortcomings in reprinting
something which, in no small measure,
is not long passed. – Ed.
