Law Society of British Columbia. Katie L. Comley bolsters the talent pool at
Mitha Law Group, and waves goodbye to Miller Thomson. Anita Atwal starts
up her new venture, Anita Atwal Law, having previously been with HHBG
Lawyers. Sabrina R. Anis lands at Roper Greyell from Miller Thomson.
Jonathan R. Buysen jumps from Harris & Company back to Stikeman
Elliott. Fayme K. Hodal is now with Kane, Shannon & Weiler, having moved
from Samfiru Tumarkin. Carey Veinotte, formerly of Taylor Veinotte Sullivan,
and Jordanna Cytrynbaum, formerly of Whitelaw Twining, move to
Cassels Brock & Blackwell. Mark K. Leung begins a new gig as general
counsel at GSL Group. He was previously with Broadband TV. Pamela R.
Costanzo comes on board at Roper Greyell, having departed Young Anderson.
Helen M.E. Sevenoaks joins Whitelaw Twining from Majestic Media
USA. Hein Poulus, Q.C., Joseph V. Ensom and Erin L. Kotz move their
practices from Harris & Company to the newly formed Poulus Ensom. Song
Xue joins Harper Grey from the firm of Chen and Xue.

Andrea Bocelli obtained a law degree from the University of Pisa and practised
as a court-appointed lawyer for one year.
On February 7, 2022, the B.C. Supreme Court welcomed the appointment,
as new judges, of K. Michael Stephens, Michael G. Thomas and Jacqueline
D. Hughes, Q.C., in Vancouver; Bruce Elwood (formerly master),
Baljinder Kaur Girn and John Gibb-Carsley in New Westminster; and Briana
Hardwick in Kelowna.
The Provincial Court was recently bolstered by the appointments of Scott
Mulder, Nina Purewal, Q.C., Michael Munro, Michele Peacock, Susan
Sangha and Ellen (Heidi) Hughes as judges. Judge Mulder will sit in
Quesnel, Judge Purewal in Prince George, Judge Munro in Victoria, Judge
Peacock in New Westminster and Judge Hughes in Surrey. Judge Sangha
will be assigned to the Office of the Chief Judge with chambers in Robson
Square.
Adam Thomas Picotte has been reappointed as a part-time member of the
Social Security Tribunal.
