Anne F. Cameron is a partner at Carfra Lawton LLP in Victoria. A former
emergency room nurse and chair of the CBA’s Vancouver Island Civil Litigation
Subsection, Anne practises in the areas of insurance law, personal
injury and health law. Her favourite legal term is “iatrogenic”.
Manjot Cheema practises employment law at HHBG Lawyers’ Surrey
office. She is the vice president of the Surrey Bar Association and an advocate
for marginalized people. She has previously lived in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Katelynn Denny is also an employment lawyer practising with Forte Law.
A competitive soccer player, Katelynn has endured a number of Edmonton
winters.
Sara Forte is yet another employment lawyer practising in South Surrey
(obviously with her own firm, Forte Law). A regular contributor to CLE,
Sara has a seemingly relentless schedule of speaking engagements.
Brian McDaniel is associate counsel at Ridgway & Company in Duncan.
Brian is originally from Ocean Falls, B.C. and wrote a reminiscence of growing

D. Ross McGowan is a partner at BLG in Vancouver with a broad range of
experience in issues of compliance, risk management and litigation support.
Ross is especially known for assisting financial institutions in combatting
fraud and corruption.
Nancy Merrill, Q.C., is a former president of the Law Society (that’s her on
the cover of our January 2019 issue). Nancy practises as a litigator and
mediator with Merrill, Long & Co. in Nanaimo. She was the first woman
elected as a bencher in Nanaimo County.
