THE ADVOCATE 315
VOL. 79 PART 2 MARCH 2021
The words and music of “Land of Enchantment - New Mexico”, written
by Michael Martin Murphy, Chick Raines and Don Cook, are declared to
be the official state ballad. The words of the state ballad are as follows:
I met a lady in my drifting days
I quickly fell under the spell of her loving ways
A rose in the desert I loved her so
In the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico
As we watched the sunset by the Rio Grande
A mission bell rang farewell she took my hand
She said “come back amigo no matter where you go”
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico
From her arms I wandered, far across the sea
I often heard her gentle words haunting me
“Come back amigo, I miss you so”
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico
So come back amigo no matter where you go
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico.
There are over 90 vaccines, including those of Pfizer and Moderna, that are
in various stages of development and testing (and now use) to fight COVID-19.
The vaccines are of four categories: deactivated form of whole virus that
does not replicate in the body but triggers immune response; nucleic (RNA
or mRNA) vaccines (e.g., the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines), which send specific
“genetic code” from parts of the virus to the trigger antigens; viral vector
vaccines, which are safe, modified versions of the virus (e.g., the
AstraZeneca vaccine); and protein subunit vaccines, which use a safe component
of the virus (protein) to trigger immune response.
