dome”.7 The Revelstoke courthouse is regarded as “an outstanding example
of the Neoclassical Revival style”, with telltale characteristics including
“marble pilasters, Doric marble columns, granite plinth, stone portico, and
keystones”.8 Hooper’s Revelstoke courthouse replaced one built in 1897,
which had “served as the model for an identical court house built in Nelson
in the following year”.9
