D. Michael Bain, Q.C., is the editor of the Advocate and a partner at HHBG
Lawyers. He is a fan of novelty song writing (in particular the iii-vi-ii-V-I
turnaround) and once rhymed “gastroenteritis” with “gastropod detritus”.
Jennifer K. Choi is an associate at McCarthy Tétrault in Vancouver. Her
practice focuses on commercial dispute resolution and arbitration. Jennifer
also has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology. Hey, it’s not rocket
science.
The Honourable Thomas A. Cromwell is an active mediator and provides
strategic advice both at BLG, where he is senior counsel, and beyond. He
was previously a justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and, before that,
the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from
Queen’s University.
Caitlin Ohama-Darcus is an associate at Nathanson, Schachter & Thompson
LLP. She carries on a general commercial and civil litigation practice
with a particular interest in appeals and the resolution of complex commercial
disputes.
Tom Posyniak is an associate at Fasken. He has a general litigation practice
with a focus on appeals, judicial reviews and complex commercial matters.
Peter Senkpiel is a partner at Nathanson, Schachter & Thompson LLP. He
has a broad commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution and advisory
practice.
Dirk Van Ommen is an associate at Blakes. He practises in the field of tax
law, with a primary focus on domestic and international corporate taxation
matters. Beyond the law, Dirk is a baseball enthusiast and remains involved
