THE ADVOCATE 797
VOL. 79 PART 5 SEPTEMBER 2021
Wendy A. King and Peeter Wesik were reappointed to the board of directors
of the Royal British Columbia Museum for terms ending July 31, 2022.
Noting the case before the court involved “another kitchen renovation gone
wrong”, Deputy Judge Marshall drew a parallel to “one of the episodes of
the original Star Trek television program … called ‘Mirror, Mirror’. It
unfolded in a parallel universe. In the parallel universe, what took place in
this universe also took place in the parallel universe but in an opposite manner.
In this claim, the parties agreed to almost nothing about their underlying
arrangements. On what should have been a simple kitchen renovation,
the parties disputed at least the following factors: 1) was there a contract?
… 3) was the contract price specified? 4) when was the work to be completed?
5) was work to be done only on Tuesdays? …”: Kargiannakis v. Siljanoski,
2015 CanLII 31297 (Ont. S.C.S.M.).
Matthew R. Voell was reappointed as a lay councillor to the British Columbia
Institute of Agrologists for a term ending June 30, 2023.
