These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the
Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud
to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives. We need more Justices
or we will lose our 2nd. Amendment & everything else. Vote Trump 2020!
Do you get the impression that the Supreme Court doesn’t like me?
The recent Supreme Court decisions, not only on DACA, Sanctuary
Cities, Census, and others, tell you only one thing, we need NEW JUSTICES
of the Supreme Court. If the Radical Left Democrats assume
power, your Second Amendment, Right to Life, Secure Borders, and……
Religious Liberty, among many other things, are OVER and GONE!
The above messaging is ugly, self-centred and dire.
President Trump later seems to have figured out (or more likely was told)
that it would be both possible and better to spin the result in the U.S.
Supreme Court as not being a loss, switching to the following message on
The Supreme Court asked us to resubmit on DACA, nothing was lost or
won. They “punted”, much like in a football game (where hopefully they
would stand for our great American Flag). We will be submitting
enhanced papers shortly in order to properly fulfil the Supreme Court’s
… ruling & request of yesterday … Based on the decision the Dems can’t
make DACA citizens. They gained nothing!
Spinning a decision is one thing—many of us would like to portray decisions
as wins, some of us do, and others of us adopt the strategy of forgetting
our losses so as to honestly say, “I can’t remember losing a case.”1 However,
denigrating the institution by which the decision was issued is another matter.
Not only were President Trump’s initial comments wholly inappropriate,
but even from a narrow strategic perspective they were unnecessary
and inconsistent with what he later said.
The above rants are simply part of a broader pattern of President Trump
and cronies being willing to sacrifice the institutional bases for freedom and
security in favour of self-interest. If not part of an accepted modus operandi,
one would think that utterly disqualified from any chance of having his sentence
commuted2 would have been Roger Stone, the person who posted on
Instagram a photo of the judge in his trial, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman
Jackson, with what appeared to be the crosshairs of a gun immediately
above her head, and who proclaimed himself to be the victim of a “Sovietstyle
show trial” presided over by “an Obama appointed Judge who dismissed
the Benghazi charges against Hillary Clinton and incarcerated Paul
Manafort prior to his conviction for any crime. #fixisin”. He also described
