Beethoven and his sister-in-law, Johanna, had a longstanding battle for custody
of his nephew.
On December 31, 2020, Robert J. Kiesman will be reappointed as a voting
member of the Provincial Health Services Authority and a director of British
Columbia Emergency Health Services for a term ending December 31, 2021.
Beethoven was born in Bonn, which became the capital of West Germany
during the Cold War.
In an apparent bid to win the prize for “Most Egregious Typographical
Error”, a local New Hampshire newspaper misspelled its own name on its
masthead, presenting itself as Valley Newss. The newspaper, which covers
the Upper Valley area straddling New Hampshire and Vermont, published
an “Editor’s Note” the next day that read: “Readers may have noticed that
the Valley News misspelled its own name on yesterday’s front page. Given
that we routinely call on other institutions to hold themselves accountable
for their mistakes, let us say for the record: We sure feel silly.”
Under the authority of the Park Act, the Tsaa Nuna conservancy was
recently established. It is located 65 km northwest of Fort St. John and 35
km northeast of the Butler Ridge Provincial Park. The newly created conservancy
covers 5,975 hectares of land along the southern shore of Halfway
River. Conservancies are Crown lands set aside for: (a) the protection and
maintenance of their biological diversity and natural environments; (b) the
preservation and maintenance of social, ceremonial and cultural uses of
First Nations; (c) the protection and maintenance of their recreational values;
and (d) development or use of natural resources in a manner consistent
with the other conservancy purposes.
